The Government will press the recently constituted Green Police into service in all major tourism areas from the Rajyotsava Day, November 1, the Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure Development G. Janardana Reddy has said.
He was speaking at the “Save Green” programme organised by the Department of Tourism on the occasion of the World Tourism Day here on Saturday.
The Government had constituted the Green Police with an objective to ensure protection and development of the environment at all vital tourist spots and their surroundings. It had hired the services of Ex-servicemen for the purpose, Mr. Reddy said.
